Skim Block

Skim Block Rubber is a form of natural rubber block produced from latex sludge, a by-product of concentrated latex production. Although the solid rubber content is typically around 5%, it can still be compressed and formed into blocks suitable for general industrial applications.

This rubber type typically has a rough texture, dark color, and low physical properties, including:

• Low rebound value
• Low Mooney viscosity
• Low Plasticity Retention Index (PRI)
• High nitrogen content

Due to these characteristics, skim block rubber is not suitable for high-performance or durability-focused applications, but it serves as a cost-effective option for general rubber goods where technical properties are not the primary concern.
